- It starts to run slow
- Threats are detected
- The backup system is out of date
The same goes for you.
I find that one of the most successful actions I can take is to step back and recalibrate (tune up my performance) four times a year. Every quarter, every 12 weeks, every 90 days…you choose how you want to look at it.
So, what do you do? How do you do this?
I recommend drawing a circle (note the picture I’ve attached here for you). This allows you to put a ‘bullseye’ on the four quarters in the year.
Then ask yourself these questions:
- What needs to get done?
- What would I like to see happen in the next 90 days, 12 weeks, 3 months?
Now that everything is written down in front of you, it’s time to take action. At the end of this timeframe, step back and recalibrate. Reflect on what you’ve done.
Here’s the best part: nothing you have written is permanent. Once you start taking action, do more of what works and less of what doesn’t. I like to say “catch a mistake before it becomes a habit”.
By breaking down plans, ideas and actions into four core quadrants you can start to see how easy it is to get to where you’d like to be. A bonus you might notice is feeling easier and lighter as well!
